John “Jp” Parish

John “JP” H. Parish, 81, of Fremont, passed away at Countryside Manor on January 12, 2023.  He was born on July 17, 1941 in Fremont, OH to Howard and Annetta (Baumer) Parish.  He was a 1959 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.  He served in the National Guard for 6 years after he graduated. John married Virginia Miller in May of 1964 in Fort Knox, KY and she survives.  John worked as a mail carrier and clerk with the US Postal Service for forty-one years and retired in 2001.  He enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cornhole in his spare time.  John also played on a softball team with his daughter, Elizabeth.  He loved watching various sports, especially the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Virginia; daughters, Pamela (Kevin) Gaffney, Buffalo, NY and Elizabeth (Robert) Boonie, Marblehead, OH.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

It was John’s wishes not to have services.

Memorials can be made in his honor to Hospice of ProMedica Memorial Hospital.
