Joan S. Hoch

Joan S. Hoch, 88, of Fremont, OH passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Rutherford House in Fremont. She was born March 23, 1926 in Bellevue, OH, the daughter of William A. and Alma (Sting) Staschke. She was a 1944 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.

Joan married Robert S. Hoch on August 24, 1946 at St. John’s Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2004. She worked as a Secretary at the Sandusky County Board of Education for many years until she retired in 1985.

Joan was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She loved traveling to Las Vegas with her husband, going to casinos and spending time with her family.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Victoria (Philip) Scherr, Oil City, PA; son, Doug (Genie) Hoch, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Carolyn (Bob) Scherger, Abigail (Dale) Picciuto, Rachael Hoch, Tate (Jennifer) Young, Tara Young, Tressa (Shawn) Benedetti; great grandchildren, Robert, Chelsea and Megan Shell, Alexandria Picciuto, Trinity Cooks, Adam and Samantha Young, Beyen and Leo Benedetti; great-great grandchildren, Sophia Shell and Layla Bryant.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert S. Hoch.
