JC “James” Heidelburg, 90, of Fremont, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Countryside Manor in Fremont, OH. He was born on May 10, 1931 in Vossburg, MS, the son of Hardy and Minnie (Lindsey) Heidelburg. JC was married to Adeline Jones on August 13, 1949 and she preceded him in death on December 12, 1991. He worked at Kelsey Hayes Foundry until his retirement in 1993. JC was a member of Greater St. James Church. He played guitar and recorded gospel music with the Pleasant Valley Gospel Singers. He also enjoyed fishing, baseball, playing and listening to blues and gospel music.
JC is survived by his children: JD (Deloise) Heidelburg, John W. “Nick” Heidelburg, Minnie L. (Maurice Sr.) Lull, James “Roger” (Mia) Heidelburg, Betty Abney; Along with his children, he helped raise four of his grandchildren, Celeste (Brooks) Rollins, Joell (Brooke) Heidelburg, Jorel Heidelburg, and Raquel Heidelburg; sister, Ann Adams; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Adeline Heidelburg; siblings, Leroy, Hardy Jr., Quillie, Tommy Jr. “T.J.”, James Heidelburg, Robert “Bunkie” Heidelburg, Infant brother, Christine Heidelburg, Annie Lou Jones, Pearlie Mae Starks and Dora Bester; grandchildren; David, Derrick and Belinda Heidelburg.
Visitation will take place Saturday, February 26, 2022, 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Greater St. James Church, 629 N. Sixth St, Fremont, OH 43420. *
The family encourage masks be worn for visitation of services.
Services will begin at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor Todd Chance as the Eulogist.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH.
