Jan Charles Stotz, 69, of Fremont, OH passed away at his home on Thursday, October 11, 2018. He was born November 6, 1948 in Fremont, the son of Charles Edward and Norma Louise (Poorman) Stotz. Jan was a 1966 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and recipient of the John Philip Sousa Award his senior year. He received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Ohio Northern University.
Jan worked at Whirlpool in Clyde, performed duties as operations manager at the Ramada Inn in Fremont, served as engineer at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant in Oak Harbor, was employed at Aeroquip Inoac as a mechanical engineer and finished his career in human resources at School of Hope, both in Fremont. He was a member of the Masonic Brainard Lodge #336 and served on TRIPS advisory board.
Jan loved watching his kids play sports and march in the band. He enjoyed meeting his friends at the local coffee shop and attending the latest theater production with his family. You would always find Jan yelling at the television on Sundays as he rooted for his beloved Cleveland Browns. He was an avid book reader and liked to talk politics.
Jan is survived by his children, Andrew (Lisa) Stotz and Matt (Jennifer) Radde both of Grove City, OH, Jeff (Nicole) Radde, Zanesville, OH and Scott (Melissa) Radde, Gahanna, OH; former spouse, Linda Stotz, Grove City, OH; siblings, Trude (Jim) Faur of Florida, and Therese Stotz of Akron, OH, Dennis (Sue) Stotz, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Ava, Aiden, Jaid, Jaxon, McKenzie, Alexis, Eden and Laken; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Bryan, Monica and Matt.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Prayer Service will begin at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Mauch officiating.
