James W. Dlugoleski

James W. Dlugoleski, 78, of Fremont, OH passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Jim was born on April 23, 1945 to James and Helen (Giampolo) Dliullo in Torrington, CT. He attended Torrington School. Jim married Sharlene Daniels on October 23, 1999 in Clyde, OH and she survives.  Jim served in the United States Army from September 6, 1968 to August 27, 1970. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Marksmanship M-16 and M-14 Badges. Jim worked at Nickels Bakery for fifteen years until they closed. He then worked as a custodian at the Fremont Moose Lodge until he retired. Jim enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and vacationing in Michigan.

Jim is survived by his wife of twenty-three years Sharlene Dlugoleski, children; Christopher Dlugoleski, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Andrea Dlugoleski, Fremont, OH, and Anthony “Tony” (Jodi) Dlugoleski, stepchildren; Tony (Jordan) Talbert, Fremont, OH and Jennifer (Josh) Hickman, Norwich, CT, brother; Charles (Ruth) Douglas, Clarksville, TN; grandchildren; Donovan, Devon, Nickole, Kaleb, Nicholas, Breana, Jake, Wesley and former wife, Marcia (Jeff Grine) Dlugoleski.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for family and friends will take place at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with Celebration of Life beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with military honors provided by the VFW and American Legion.

Memorials can be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
