James M. Abdoo

James M. Abdoo, 72, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born September 17, 1948 in Denver, CO to George Louis and Vera (Wetzel) Abdoo. He received a master’s degree in Spanish Literature from Bowling Green State University.

James was an entrepreneur and owned and operated his own manufacturing business. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and Ducks Unlimited. James was an avid hunter and enjoyed golfing and being outdoors. Cooking was his greatest passion and loved hosting family and friends. Education was essential to James and to those he mentored. His favorite piece of literature was Don Quixote. James profoundly loved his children and grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife, Lisa Abdoo, Fremont, OH; son, Jamil (Tesla Lozier) Abdoo, Fremont, OH; stepdaughter, Emily Hoppert, Raleigh, NC; grandchildren Jhadyn and Kyler Abdoo; step grandchildren, Joe, Gemma and Zoe Hoppert, Raleigh, NC; siblings, Bob (Karyn) Abdoo, George L. (Linda) Abdoo, Jr., both of Fremont, OH, Dennis (Cindy) Abdoo, Toledo, OH; aunts, Margy Ann Jackson and Caroline (James) Puehler both of Millbury, OH; several loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lorenzo M. Abdoo; sister-in-law, Linda Abdoo; grandson, Gabriel James Abdoo.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, July 6, 2021; 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1011 W. State St., Fremont, OH with gathering one hour prior to the service.

Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
