James F. Seiler, 77, of Fremont, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013. He was born on September 10, 1935, to the late John and Josephine (Shillin) Seiler in Kewaunee, WI. On June 29, 1957, he married Diane M. Libal at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilsen, WI. James was employed by Green Bay Packaging for over 42 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Accountant Association (NAA) of Green Bay and the AARP Tax Aid. James was also involved in a number of catholic organizations such as the Knights of Columbus a 3rd and 4th degree and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was involved in many church committees and volunteered his time to help with Mobile Meals. James’ hobbies included fishing, bowling and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Diane M. Seiler; two children, Kate (Lou) Lafayette, Grosse Ile MI; and Matthew Seiler, Millersburg, OH; three grandchildren, Josephine Lafayette, Clayton Lafayette and Bronwyn Garner; one sister-in-law, Agnes Seiler; three brothers-in-law, David (Nancy) Libal, Paul (Leanne Beno) Libal and Darrell Dax. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Donna Modlinski, Jack and Vi Seiler, Leroy Seiler; brother-in-law, Hank Koss; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sally (Libal) Dax; a nephew, Joe Seiler and a niece, Kathy Schmidt.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013; 5 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 550 Smith Rd., Fremont, OH with Fr. Kenneth Lill officiating. There will be a visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
