James B. Puffenberger

James B. Puffenberger, 72, of Fremont, OH passed away on March 16, 2021 at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, OH.  He was born on May 31, 1948 in Tiffin, OH the son of Dale and Eleanor (VanGilder) Puffenberger.  Jim was a 1967 graduate of Old Fort High School.  Jim served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969 where he received the National Defense Service Medal.  He married Carol Ludrowsky on August 11 ,1973 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton, OH and she survives.

He worked in the printing department at Green Bay Packaging for forty years until he retired in 2010.

Jim was an avid Notre Dame and Detroit Tigers fan.  He loved playing baseball and collecting baseball cards.  He also enjoyed crafts, bowling, woodworking, going to casinos and collecting model trains.

Jim is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Carol Puffenberger, Fremont; children, Amy (Jason) Sisler, Walbridge and James (Lonnie Fitch) Puffenberger II, Tiffin; siblings, Pat (John) Englehart, Lou Ann (Tim) Kuhn and Michael Puffenberger all of Tiffin and Martin (Doris) Puffenberger, Cincinnati; mother-in-law, Betty Ludrowsky, Port Clinton; brother-in-law, Mark Griffin, Tiffin; sister-in-law, Barbara (David) Bell, Marysville and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sharon Tilton and Carol Griffin; sister-in-law, Cleo Puffenberger and father-in-law, John Ludrowsky.

Visitation: Friday, March 26, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St, Fremont, OH.

Services will be held privately for the family.

Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
