Helen T. Meyer

Helen T. Meyer, 90, of Fremont, OH passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Memorial Hospital ER. She was born on July 27, 1924 in Haskins, OH, the daughter of George A. and Catherine (Miller) Hoffman. She was a 1942 graduate of Haskins High School.

Helen married Wilbur J. Meyer on November 25, 1950 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg, OH and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1997.

Helen was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and the Fremont Charismatic Prayer Group. Helen was a very prayerful woman and especially enjoyed rides to the Sorrowful Mother Shrine in Bellevue, OH. She also enjoyed rides to the lake, bird watching, lighthouses, and going to Polka dances with Wilbur. She loved to spend time with her family, cooking for them, and enjoying one of her favorites- pie.

Helen is survived by her children, Diane Hilton, Fremont, Dr. James W. (Jinghua) Meyer, Perrysburg, OH, Larry G. Meyer, Kay Gooslin, Teresa Crowell and John B. Meyer all of Fremont, OH; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur J. Meyer; daughter, Helen Ann Meyer; siblings, Dennis “Dick” Hoffman, Charles Hoffman, Kathryn Sattler, Mayme Liebherr, Loretta Kellermeier, Leona Kellermeier, Esther Gurtzweiler and Bertha Hoffman.

Visitation: Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 1:30 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home & Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, October 24, 2014; 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd., Fremont, OH

Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont.
