George W. Raymond, 70, of Fremont and formerly of Lancaster, OH passed away at his home on Friday, March 25, 2016. He was born on January 23, 1946 in Lancaster, the son of Carl G. and Nola (Dresbach) Raymond. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Ohio University in 1968.
George served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from July 3, 1969 until April 29, 1971 and received the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
George married Jennifer L. Feick on April 4, 1968 in North Carolina and she survives in Fremont. He was a Health and Physical Education Teacher with Lancaster City Schools for thirty years. George also coached football, girl’s basketball and track. He enjoyed auctions and antiquing.
George is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Jennifer L. Raymond, Fremont, OH; daughters, Cassandra (Eric) Jones, Lancaster, OH and Elizabeth (Kevin) Chagnon, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Ethan Jones, Jennifer and Thomas Chagnon; siblings, Harold Raymond, Apopka, FL, Howard (Dorothy) Raymond, Thomas and James Raymond, Annie Wine, all of Lancaster, OH and Nancy Fausnaugh, Stoutsville, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Private Services will be held at a later date.
