Gary C. Schueren

Gary C. Schueren, 86, of Fremont, OH passed away to his Savior and surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Bethesda Care Center. He was born on July 10, 1934 in Toledo, OH to Carl R. and Esther M. (Harrison) Schueren. He was a 1952 graduate of Macomber High School and attended the University of Toledo.

Gary served in the U.S. Air Force from November 30, 1953 to August 29, 1957 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He married Nancy Ann Carter on April 9, 1960 in Toledo and she preceded him in death on January 13, 2013.

Gary worked as a field engineer at Unysis Corporation and retired after thirty-one years of service. He was a member of Grace Community Church and enjoyed working on computers, tending to his garden, especially his roses but mostly spending time with his family.

Gary is survived by his sons, John (Silvia) Schueren, Fremont, OH; Matthew (Carol Norman) Schueren, Scottsdale, AZ; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Schueren, Sterling, KS; siblings, Jan Schueren, Alan Schueren, Judy Osborne and Lynn White; grandchildren, Courtney, Nina, Brock, Jared, Marissa, Lauren and Andrew and great grandchildren, Branson and Nori.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy Ann Schueren; son, Steven Schueren; sister, Kay Jones.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon with the service beginning at Noon at Grace Community Church, 900 Smith Rd, Fremont, OH 43420. Military Honors will follow the service at the church.

Burial will take place at McGormley Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials can be made to Grace Community Church.
