Fernando Benavidez

Fernando “Nandy” Benavidez, 65, of Fremont, OH passed away on April 5, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on May 5, 1957 in Mercedes, TX the son of Enrique and Celia (Longoria) Benavidez, Sr.  Fernando married Rita Robles on December 13, 1975 in Fremont, OH and she survives.   Fernando was employed at Clauss Cutlery for twenty-five years until they closed.  He then became the owner of J and E Manufacturing for fifteen years until he retired in 2021.  Fernando was a very active member of Victory Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing and fishing.  He was also an avid Dallas Cowboy and Cleveland Indians fan.  Fernando also loved the promised state of Texas.

Fernando is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Rita Benavidez; children, Marco (Valerie) Benavidez and Jessica (Ryan) Nitschke all of Fremont; siblings, Paula (Roberto) Sanchez, Fremont, Dora (Pete) Soto, Lorraine, OH, Leticia (Ray) Monrreal and Mary Alice (Martin) Espiritu both of Fremont; grandchildren, Jabyn (Andrea) Nitschke, Eliana, Isabella and Adriel Benavidez, Yanna and Kai Nitschke and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Hilario Delgado and brother, Enrique Benavidez, Jr.

Visitation:  Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.

Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, April 13, 2023; 10:00 a.m. at Victory Church, 2051 Old Oak Harbor Rd., Fremont, OH with an hour of visitation prior to the service.
