Evelyn Custer

Evelyn Custer, 87, of Fremont, OH passed away on September 16, 2023 at Countryside Manor Healthcare in Fremont, OH.  She was born on November 26, 1935 in Harrisonburg, VA the daughter of the late Biedler and Edna (Fadely) Frye.  Evelyn attended Saginaw High School in Michigan.   Evelyn worked as an inspector at Atlas Industries for over twenty-six years until she retired.  She enjoyed restoring sewing machines and was a long-time member of her Church.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Gary Custer, 2095 Custers Rd., Harrisonburg, VA 22802; five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Custer, brother Don Frye, brother Rich Frye, and sister Rochelle Campbell.

Visitation:  Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont ,OH.

Internment will take place in Harrisonburg, VA at Weavers Cemetery with a graveside service.  McMullen Funeral Home is entrusted to the services in Harrisonburg, VA.

Memorials can be made to Shriners Children’s.
