Eva Mayvene Smith
Eva Mayvene Smith, 73, of Fremont, OH passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Countryside Continuing Care Center. She was born on November 4, 1940 in Portsmouth, OH to Russell and Florice (Keaton) Adkins.
Eva was a member of Free Will Baptist Chapel in Green Springs, OH. Most of her life she worked with the mentally ill where she advocated for NAMI and support groups.
Eva is survived by her daughters, June Minzer of California, Jodi Henry, Julie (Kevin) Hammer-Smith, both of Fremont, OH, Jamie (Daniel) Walker, Port Orange, FL; siblings, Wilma Rapp, James Adkins, both of Fremont, OH, Wendell Adkins, Gainesboro, TN, Roy “Johnny” Crayton, Killbuck, OH, Paul Johnson of Indiana; ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Kenneth Adkins, Wanda Severs and Janet Cross.
Visitation:
Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Service:
Wednesday, October 1, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home with one hour of visitation prior to service.
Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH at a later date.
