Eva M. Eberly
Eva M. Eberly, 93, of Fremont, OH passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. She was born November 17, 1920 in Fremont, the daughter of William and Estella (Bundschuh) Ackerman. She was a 1940 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
Eva married Richard S. Eberly on July 31, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2003. Eva was a Homemaker. She worked at the Erie Proving Grounds during WWII and later worked at H.J. Heinz Company for seven years, retiring in 1983. Eva was a member of The Marian Society, Altar Rosary Society and Confraternity, all at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and spending time with her grandchildren.
Eva is survived by her children, Ronald Eberly, Fremont, OH, Charles A. Eberly, Zeeland, MI, Michael Eberly, Thomas Eberly, Susan Vollmar all of Fremont, OH; siblings, Paul Ackerman, Geona, OH, Robert and Norma Ackerman, both of Fremont, OH, Hildegard Dempsey, West Virginia; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, step great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Eberly; daughter, Barbara Eberly; granddaughters, Angela Heimert and Ronda Eberly; daughter-in-law, Judith Eberly; siblings, John, Thomas, James, Rita, Mary and Roseline Ackerman.
Visitation: Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, OH
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, April 25, 2014; 10:30 a.m. at the church with Fr. Michael Zacharias officiating.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery
Memorials: Bishop Hoffman Catholic Schools-St. Joseph High School Campus, the American Heart Association or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
