Emilia Ortiz

Emilia Ortiz, 85, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Countryside Continuing Care Center in Fremont. She was born July 21, 1928 in Laredo, TX to Leonardo and Anna (Ortiz) Alejandro.

Emilia married Ventura Ortiz on February 10, 1946 in Laredo, TX and he preceded her in death on May 27, 1998. She worked as a Nurses Aid at Countryside Continuing Care Center for nine years and at Quality Care Nursing Home. She retired in 1980. Emilia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved singing, cooking and spending time with her family.

Emilia is survived by her children, Ventura (Guadalupe) Ortiz, Jr., Maria J. (Manuel) Mendoza, Alma L. (Ismael, Sr.) Gutierrez, Alvina (Benito) Lopez, Reymundo Ortiz, all of Fremont, OH; sister, Aurora Gerda, Laredo, Mexico; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren; beloved nephew, Benito Ortiz, Fremont, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ventura Ortiz; sons, Jose L. Ortiz and J. Manuel Ortiz; daughters, Diana Gutierrez and Raquel Ortiz; six brothers and three sisters.
