Elodia M. Gonzales

Elodia “Nena” M. Gonzales, 76, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Bethesda Care Center.  She was born on January 2, 1948 in Victoria TX to Sotero and Manuella (Chapa) Medellin.

Nena married Santiago “Junior” Gonzales, Jr in November 1973 in Green Springs, OH and he preceded her on April 13, 2015.  She worked for DG Trim and then for Berlekamp for many years. Elodia was a member of Victory Church where she enjoyed spending her time.  She also enjoyed cooking, making those around her laugh but above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Nena is survived by her children, Ismael Gonzales, Fremont, OH, Melissa (Jorge) Ramirez, Helena, OH; grandchildren, Rick Lopez Jr, Candace Lopez, Chris Gonzales, Morgan Gonzales, Mack Gonzales, Selena Valencia, Zayda Ramirez, Ezekiel Ramirez, and Zoe Ramirez; great grandchildren, Mavus, Iverson, Aliana, Bella, Eric, John Jr; siblings, Esther Faragoza of California, Ernest Medellin, Fremont, OH.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Rick Lopez; grandson, John M. Lopez and brother, Bene Lopez.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3 to 7 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Services will be on Friday, January 19, 2024, 11:00 am at Victory Church, 2051 Oak Harbor Rd, Fremont, OH 43420.

Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
