Edward A. Benlein, 59 of Fremont, OH passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on June 27, 1964 in Lompoc, California to Judi (Chestnutwood) Methner. Ed was a 1982 graduate of Temple Christian Academy and then went on to serve in the US Air Force from March 31, 1983 to April 1, 1988 where he received the AF Training Ribbon, AF Good Conduct Medal, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon and AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon. After his service in the military, Ed worked as a Network Tech and was currently working for First Choice in Cleveland, OH.
Ed was an avid Balloonist and enjoyed telling bad dad jokes. He was a collector of guns and loved shooting them off.
Ed is survived by his children, Benny Benlein, of New Mexico, April Benlein, of Michigan; mother, Judi Methner, Fremont, OH; brothers, Joseph (Vickie) Benlein, Fremont, OH, Kristopher (Laura) Benlein, Oak Harbor, OH; niece, Ashely Benlein; great nephew, Joseph Benlein and his dog, Bristol.
He is preceded in death by his, father, Larry R. Methner; grandparents, Elnora and Clarence Chestnutwood and uncle, Ronald Chestnutwood.
It was Ed’s wish not to have any services.
