Douglas “Doug” Russell Rhoades

Douglas “Doug” Russell Rhoades, 33, of Fremont, OH died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 as a result of a traffic accident. He was born on April 19, 1980 in Kettering, OH, the son of Dennis A. and Kathy (Rahn) Rhoades. Doug was a 1999 graduate of Bellbrook High School in Bellbrook, OH and received a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo.

Doug married Sierra Pena on May 15, 2010 in Fremont and she survives. He was currently working as an Engineer at Dana Corporation. Doug foremost adored his wife and two daughters. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed sailing, shooting, biking, running and riding his motorcycle. Doug deeply loved his family and he will be greatly missed by all.

Doug is survived by his wife, Sierra Rhoades and two daughters, Emilia and Kara Rhoades, all of Fremont, OH; parents, Dennis and Kathy Rhoades, Bellbrook, OH; brother, Gregory (Abby Gerwin) Rhoades, Cincinnati, OH; grandmother, Irene Rahn, Centerville, OH; parents-in-law, Joe and Karen Pena, Fremont, OH; sisters-in-law, Monica and Tiffany Pena; brother-in-law, Joseph Pena; niece, Josie Pena; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell and Phyllis Rhoades, Ivan Rahn; cousin, Jeannette Slouffman.

Visitation: Monday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Services: Tuesday, May 14, 2013, 11:00 am at Grace Community Church, 900 Smith Rd, Fremont, OH with Dr. John Jackson officiating.

Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont.

Memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for his daughters.
