Dorothy "Dot" M. Filson

Dorothy “Dot” M. Filson, 94, of Fremont, OH passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Elmwood Care Center. She was born on July 12, 1930 in Fremont, OH to Henry and Daisy (Hetrick) Bower. Dot was a 1948 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.

Dot worked for Vogel’s making cake decorations then at Consolite making signs and she also owned and operated a house cleaning service for over forty years. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingsway, OH where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Women of the Church. Dot was a former member of the Ballville Fireman’s Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed having tea parties with her great nieces and was a good artist. 

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Wendy Corfman, Fremont, OH; sisters, Marjorie Wagner, Jeanette Heilman, Joyce Hansen; brother-in-law, Floyd Green and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Franklin “Hank” Bower; sister, Norma Green; son-in-law, Daniel R. Corfman; sister-in-law, Joyce A. Bower and brothers-in-law, Nick Wagner III and Leroy Hansen.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 212 N Clover St, Fremont, OH 43420.

Service will be begin at the church at 10:00 am following the visitation.

Memorials can be made in Dorothy’s honor to St. John’s Lutheran Church Bible School.
