Doris I. Koke

Doris I. Koke, 90, of Marengo, OH passed away on November 9, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH. She was born on March 27, 1934 in Green Springs, OH the daughter of James and Elma (Bennehoff) Lee. She was a 1952 graduate of Green Springs High School.

Doris married Anthony “Tony” Koke on December 22, 1956 at Green Springs Untied Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2018. She was a clerk at the grocery store in Green Springs for thirty years. She then worked at St Francis Nursing Home where she retired from. Doris was a member of Green Springs United Methodist Church and enjoyed Bible study. The love of her life was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard and dominos. 

Doris is survived by her children, Tamera Ryan of Connecticut, John (Laura) Koke, Marengo, OH, Joseph (JC Hall) Koke of Virginia, Rebecca Oliver of West Virginia, Sarah (Bob) Blue, Sandusky, OH; grandchildren, Britinie, Jennie, Abbie, Allison, Erin, Kelsey, Andrea, Carly, A.C., T.J.; great grandchildren, Collin, Max, Caroline, Jackson, Josie and Rory; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony Koke; siblings, Bernard Lee, Leonard “Shorty” Lee, Donald Lee, Allen Lee, Dale “Skip” Lee, Robert Lee, Jacob Lee and Billy Lee.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St., Green Springs, OH with an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 pm.

Service: Saturday, November 16, 2024, 10:00 am at Green Springs United Methodist Church, 117 N. Broadway St, Green Springs, with one hour of visitation at church prior to the service. 

Burial will take place at Green Springs Cemetery.
