Doris “Joanne” Gruver

Doris “Joanne” Gruver, 87, of Fremont OH passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.  She was born on May 9, 1935 in Fremont, the daughter of George and Phronia (Campbell) Ross.  Joanne married Don L. Gruver on June 12, 1953 in Fremont and he preceded her in death in November of 1989.  She was a greeter at Wal-Mart for twenty-five years.

Joanne enjoyed bingo, scratch-off tickets, her beloved pets, game shows and camping.  She loved visiting family and watching her grandchildren in their sporting events.  She enjoyed her time through live videos with her great-great granddaughter, Millie.

Joanne is survived by her children, Donna Reinbolt, Fremont, OH and Michael (Lynn) Gruver, Green Springs, OH; son-in-law, Juan Levario, Fremont, OH; Brother, Don Ross; grandchildren, Julie LeJeune, Angie Newman, Jeremy LeJeune, Candi LeJeune, Ryan Croudup-Levario, Tyler Reinbolt, Terah Biller, Tanya Peck, Frank Reinbolt, Samantha Gruver, Michael Gruver, Jr., Heather Hodges, Dean Gruver, Mashelle Miller, Brian Rehder and Carolyn Ross; fifty-five great and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don L. Gruver; daughter, Georgia Levario; sons, Randy and Mark (Vicki) Gruver; sisters, Vernie Russell and Joylee Eversole; brothers, Jack and Jim Ross; great granddaughter, Toni Peck.

Visitation:  Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Services: Thursday, July 7, 2022, 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor C.J. Burel officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Jacob Cemetery, Republic, OH.

Memorials can be made to the Sandusky County Sick Dog Fund at the Sandusky Co. Dog Warden’s Office.
