Donald “Spook” L. Heileman, 76, of North St, Fremont, OH passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Parkview Care Center in Fremont. He was born on November 10, 1936 in Lindsey, OH to Harland and Anna (Birr) Heileman.
Spook was a Meat Cutter at Great Scott and Kroger’s for several years. He was most well known as a Bartender at the Hillside Club. Spook bartended there for thirty years and retired when the bar closed.
Spook owned his own horse but he also helped out the men at the Tiffin Fair with their horses and horse races. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Colts. He loved country music and the boys in the band. He loved spending time with his friends. Spook was easy going and was able to become friends with everyone he met.
Spook is survived by his sisters, Joyce Berryman of Mississippi and Sharon Crosby of South Carolina; best friend of thirty years, Connie Claypool; good friend, Skip Cantrell, both of Fremont and many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Robert and Richard Heileman; sisters, Joan Miller and Shirley Kwiatkowski; good friend, Paul Cantrell.
Visitation: Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
There will be no Services at this time. Burial will take place at a later date.
