Donald E. Hayes, Jr.

Donald “Don” E. Hayes, Jr., 59, of N. Fifth St., Fremont, OH passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born on February 9, 1953 in Tiffin, OH to Donald E. and Idonna M. (Brett) Hayes, Sr. Don was a 1971 graduate of Willard High School in Willard, OH and attended the Ohio State University where he studied music. Don married Teresa Howard on August 26, 1989 in Willard, OH and she survives.

He worked for the City of Willard for many years and then became the Superintendant for Ballville Township retiring in 2003. Don was a member of Family Worship Center in Fremont where he was part of the worship team. He was a singer and musician, especially playing the drums. He trained in drums at Willard High School and also at Heidelberg College. He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and spending time with his grandkids.

Don is survived by his wife, Teresa Hayes; step sons, Nathaniel R. (Mandi) Jester, of Fremont, Eric A. (Gretchen) Kuhn, Cape May, NJ; sister, Cindy (Fritz) Hayes Geer, Cincinnati, OH; niece, Jessie Geer and nephew Henry Geer both of Cincinnati, OH and five step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Family Worship Center, 120 E. State St. with Bishop Gary Clowers officiating.

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital or the Family Worship Center Mission Fund.
