David Leroy Saunders

David LeRoy Saunders, 80, of Fremont, OH passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH.  He was born May 5, 1941 in Marion, OH to Howard and Dorothy (Southward) Saunders.  David served in the U.S. Army from May 6, 1958 to April 11, 1961 and was Honorably discharged.  He was a cabinet maker and painter for Wilson Cabinet Co. in Killbuck, OH for over 30 years.  He enjoyed westerns, smoking meat and spending time with friends.

David is survived by his children, Christine (Steve Kromer, Jr.) Blodgett and Brian (Angie) Saunders both of Fremont, OH; siblings, Mary Gibson, Bellevue, OH, Judy Warwick of Pennsylvania, Rich Saunders of Alabama, Mike Saunders, Joe (Gill) Saunders, Fremont, OH and Virgil Saunders; step grandchildren, Ember, Autumn, Breeze and Stormy Ollom; former wife and mother of his children, Diana (Rice) Hoffman, Fremont, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Barbara Jean Patrick, Ellen Binkley, Ginny Ferguson, Don and Earl Saunders.

A Celebration of Life will take place on

Sunday, November 7, 2021

, 3:00 p.m. at the Fremont Eagles, 2570 W. State St., Fremont, OH 43420.
