David J. Bliss
David J. Bliss, 74, of Fremont, OH, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born April 29, 1940 in Fremont to Eldred “Pete” and Betty (Scherer) Bliss.
David joined the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959 and received the Good Conduct Medal.
David married Rita Lorenzen in Fremont on April 12, 1969 and she survives. He worked for Armstrong Air for thirty years until they closed in 2006. He was a member of Living Love Fellowship in Sandusky, OH. David was a member and Chaplin at the VFW. He volunteered for Memorial Hospital and delivered Meals On Wheels. David enjoyed working on antenna towers and being around people.
David is survived by his wife, Rita Bliss; children, Robert (Julie) Bliss of Fremont, OH, Ronald (Paula) Bliss, Twinsburg, OH, Robin Schueren, Springfield, OH, Russell (Angela) Bliss, Green Springs, OH; siblings, Hazel (Frank) Fedowitz, Gibsonburg, OH, Carolyn (Harold) Billow, Helena, OH, Peggi Miller, Fremont, OH, Karen (Rick) Marquart, West Liberty, OH, Norb (Cyndi) Bliss, Elmore, OH, Becky (Bo) Witham, Steamboat Springs, CO, Tim Bliss, Fostoria, OH; grandchildren, Kyle, Kaylie, Eric, Sarah, Vania, Nicholaus and a great grandchild, Brady.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Bliss and sister, Joan Zink.
Visitation: Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E, State St., Fremont, OH.
Service: Tuesday, December 2, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Sandra Stinson officiating.
Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH with Military Honors provided by the American Legion and VFW.
