Darrell W. Reid

Darrell W. Reid, 80, of Fremont, OH passed away at his home on Saturday, July 23, 2022.  He was born on September 3, 1941 in Galion, OH to Ivan and Mildred (Smith) Reid.  He was a 1959 graduate of Galion High School.  Darrell served in the US Army from 1966 until 1967 and was honorably discharged.  He married Patricia Kipfinger on February 22, 1969 in Bluefield, WV.

Darrell worked for Automatic Electric from 1967 to 1982.  He then went to the US Postal Service as a mail carrier from 1982 until 2007 when he retired. He was a active member Fremont Church of the Nazarene where he served as board member, treasurer and long-time choir member.  Darrell was an avid coin collector and roller coaster enthusiast.  He loved people, puzzles and ice cream of any kind.

Darrell is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Patricia Reid, Fremont, OH; children, Todd (Wendy) Reid, Bourbonnais, IL, Melissa (Justin) Moorman, Dayton, OH, Lonnie (Brida) Reid, Columbus, OH; siblings, David Reid and Marcia (Dan) Kieselhorst both of Galion, OH; grandchildren, Maddux, Mia, Montana, Camdyn, Turner and Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rob Reid and brother, Ronnie Reid.

A celebration of life will take place on Thursday, July 28, 2022; 4:30 p.m. at Fremont Church of the Nazarene, 1925 N Fifth St., Fremont, OH with an hour of gathering prior to the service at the church.

Memorials can be made to the church, ProMedica Hospice or to the family.
