Darl E. Frey, Sr.

Darl E. Frey, Sr., 87, of Fremont, OH passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born on February 21, 1933 in Milan, OH to Walter and Mary (Herr) Frey.

Darl served in the US Army from May 9, 1956 to April 15, 1958 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He married Norma J. Homler on January 11, 1969 in Fremont and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2013.

Darl was a welder at Whirlpool Corporation for forty-two years and retired in 1992. He owned the Broken Paddle Campground for many years and also owned Homler Bros. Septic Tank Cleaning. Darl was a member of the VFW and the Eagles. He enjoyed fishing and going to casinos.

Darl is survived by his children, Tonya (Mike Lantz) Frey and Darl (Amy) Frey, Jr. both of Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Natashia Bennett, Sandusky, OH, Bryce Bennett, Fremont, OH, Andrea (Brady) Levesque of Mississippi, Eric Frey of New York, Gabe Jackson, Olivia Jackson and Emma Frey, all of Fremont, OH; great grandchildren, Major and Nino Glinsey, Sandusky, OH, Miriam and Bronwyn Levesque of Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma J. Frey and many brothers and sisters.

A Graveside Ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2020; 10:30 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont, OH with military honors provided by the V.F.W. and American Legion.
