Dale E. Benfer
Dale E. Benfer, 92, of Tiffin, OH passed away on February 24, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 23, 1927 in Bellevue, OH the son of the late Zeldon and Marian (Schell) Benfer. He married Elvina “Kitty” Pressette on April 8, 1955 in Fostoria and she survives.
Dale worked as a welder at Chemi-Trol for twenty-seven years until he retired in January of 1989. He loved boating and was a racing fanatic with his wife. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, the outdoors and playing the guitar.
Dale is survived by his wife of sixty-three years Elvina “Kitty” Benfer, Tiffin; children, Phyllis (Sonny) Brickman, McComb, Cheryl (Dan) Lucius, Upper Sandusky, Michael (Deborah Pedraja) Benfer, Orlando, FL, Susan (Rich) Jones, Green Springs and Judi (Chad) VanDoren, Clyde; siblings, Harold (Ruth) Benfer, Bellevue and Phyllis Downing, Avon Park, FL; thirteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elson Benfer and two grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, March 1, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH.
