Coletta A. Miller, 90, of Fremont, OH passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 31, 1932 in Toledo, OH the daughter of Robert and Coletta (Toeppe) Steinbauer. She was a 1950 graduate of St Joseph High School and became a registered nurse at Mercy School for Nursing in Toledo, OH. Coletta married Eugene “Gene” R. Miller on January 22, 1955 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clyde, OH and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2016. She led a faith-filled life and was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was involved in the Altar Rosary Society, Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament and a funeral lunch coordinator. Coletta was a founding member of Heartbeat and the initiator of the geranium fundraiser sale. She was an award-winning quilter until her hands grew too tired. Coletta was chief organizer and map reader for the family travels across North America. Together she and Gene created everlasting memories for their seven kids in a pop-up camper and station wagon for weeks at a time. During the winters, hot chocolate and skate tying became her specialty.
Coletta is survived by her children, Theresa (Stephen) Smith, Pittsburgh, PA, Raymond (Lorrie) Miller, Fremont, Angela (Robert) Hurd, Annapolis, MD, Lauretta (Ken) Swint, Fremont, Andrew (Gwen) Miller, Plymouth, MI, Daniel (Holly) Miller, Toledo, OH and Carl (Kristen) Miller, Perrysburg, OH; grandchildren, Meghan (Gray) Cole, Michael McHenry, Cory (Amber) Miller, Kyle (Alison) Miller, Sarah Hurd, Nathaniel (Andrea) Hurd, Emily (Jonathan) Reyes, Eli Hurd, Nick (Betsy) Swint, Jenna (Andy) Adams, Abby (Matt) Kriha and Molly Swint, Katie, Matt and Drew Miller, Madelyn and Amelia Miller and Sydney Miller; great-grandchildren, James, Audrey and Logan Cole, Jaret, Deacon and Raelynn Miller, Nora and Neil Miller, Oliver Reyes, Annie and Gracie Swint and Charlie Adams and sister-in-law, Marian Steinbauer, Clyde. She is fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews as Aunt Coke.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene “Gene” R. Miller; siblings, Robert, Carl, Richard, John, Thomas and James Steinbauer.
