Chester “Chet” R. Pullins, 92, of Fremont, OH, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 surrounded by his family at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont. Chet was born on March 29, 1932 to Wyvil and Minnie (King) Pullins in Evans, West Virginia. Chet was a 1951 graduate of Amsden High School. Chet married Nancy Fredericks on March 26, 1955 at St. Mark Lutheran Church by Reverand Otto in Fremont and she survives.
Chet served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 and served in the Korean War. Chet worked for Basic Refractories in Maple Grove, OH for over thirty years. He retired from Sandusky County in 1995. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He was a self-taught carpenter and liked working on projects. Chet was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church with his wife Nancy.
Chet is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Nancy Pullins, children, Kerri (Rick) Hosang, Fremont, OH, Chris (Shelley) Pullins, Medina, OH; grandsons, Spencer Pullins, Brandon Pullins; step granddaughters, Jamie (Jake) Dendinger, Ericka (Sylvester) Dendinger, Cassy Coleman-Kahn; one great granddaughter; six step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Alveta Shinn, Charles Pullins and Troy Pullins; nephew, Randall Shinn
Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 902 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420 with an hour of visitation prior beginning at 9 a.m. at the church.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens with military honors provided by the VFW and American Legion
Memorials can be made in Chet’s honor to St. Mark Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice.
