Charles W. Bruggeman, 85, of Fremont, OH passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born on July 1, 1927 in Fremont, the son of Laurence and Edna (Billow) Bruggeman.
Charles served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Fireman First Class, from August 1944 to March, 1946, and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Medal with one Star, American Area Medal and WWII Victory Medal.
Charles married Elizabeth Minich on March 14, 1953 in Fremont and she preceded him in death on November 6, 2002. He was a Truck Driver for forty-five years and retired in 1993.
Charles was a member Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the Teamsters. He was a jack of all trades, tinkering on cars, his truck and around the house. Charles was a big race fan. He was dedicated to his family whom he loved very much.
Charles is survived by his children, Larry (Cheryl) Bruggeman, Mary (Joe) LeJeune, Brenda (Lenny) Wheatley, Jim (Teresa) Bruggeman, Sr., Lisa Bruggeman, all of Fremont, OH, Janie Wright, Columbus, OH; sister, Lucille Bollenbacher, Fremont, OH; fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth Bruggeman; siblings, Norman “Pete”, Howard “Brick”, Ellsworth “Bus”, Jane and Anna Rose; granddaughter, Christina.
