Charles Bloom, 70, of Fremont, OH left this earth on January 8, 2015. He was born on December 12, 1944 in Findlay, OH. As a young man he enlisted and served our country in the US Air Force for four years. He was awarded the Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and Air Force Longevity Service Award.
After leaving he started his civilian career with Excello / Air Foil Textron. He specialized as a journeyman tool inspector for them from 1966 to 1994. He then worked for Thyssen Krupp Crankshaft Company. Here he was employed as a journeyman tool layout inspector from 1996 until retirement in 2009. He resided in Fremont for most of these years.
Charlie found a love for travel later in life and talked about his adventures with family and friends. He always had a passion for gardening and stealing starters when traveling to see how they would do back home. He also loved his dog “Babe” and though she was a handful, she was a great companion for him and adored him. She will be in good hands as family will adopt her. Charlie was a big Cleveland Browns fan and Ohio State Buckeye fan. Hopefully they beat Oregon in their bowl game. He would have enjoyed that.
Charlie is survived by his sons, Charles (Patrick Dacey) Bloom, Chris (Tracey) Bloom; brothers, Art and Bill Bloom; sisters, Ida Bloom and Linda (Dale) Gray; grandchildren, Blade and Dagger Bloom; former wife and mother of his children, Diane McClellan.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mimi; parents, Arthur and Laura (Sicard) Bloom.
Charlie will be missed and his green thumb will be tough to replace. In his memory we ask that friends and family plant something in his honor.
