Betty Marie Foster
Betty Marie Foster, 91, of Fremont passed away at her home with family at her side on May 24, 2013. She was born on December 22, 1921 to Walter J. and Hazel Marie (Smith) Rohlf, at home in Huron County, Lyme Township.
Betty married Robert G. Foster in January 1940, at Grace Lutheran Church, where she was a member. In 1957 she and her husband founded Foster Auto Body Shop on West State St. in Fremont. Betty was a fifty plus year member of the Order of Eastern Star and a Past Matron. She also enjoyed delivering “Meals on Wheels” in Rockledge, FL. She loved her cats “Baby and Kitty”.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Lloyd) McKinney, Maryville, TN; sons, Ted (Barbara) Foster, Fremont, OH, Terry (Mary) Foster, Cumming, GA; sister, Lucy Wise, Richmond, MI; grandchildren, Christine (Wayne) Burri, Dodi (Steve) Handy and Shelly McKinney, all of central Florida, Lisa Kohler and Bobby (Michelle) Foster both of Fremont, OH, Todd Foster and Chad (Kristeen) Foster of Florida; step grandsons, Bobby and Mike Burns both of Georgia; great grandchildren, Tony Zirkle, Paige Calhoun, Nicholas and Megan Duy, Matthew McKinney, all of central Florida, Christine Kohler at BGSU, Emily Kohler at OSU, Brooke and Tad Foster, all of Fremont, OH, Mackenzie Foster of Georgia and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert G. Foster; sisters, Alice Weller, Kathleen Armstrong and Marjorie Holmes.
Betty will be greatly missed by her whole family because she was the Pillar.
A Private Graveside Service was held at Riverside Cemetery in Monroeville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Sandusky County, 2520 Pt. Clinton Rd, Fremont, OH 43420 or Hospice of Memorial Hospital, 430 S. Main St, Clyde, OH 43410.
