Betty L. Spaulding

Betty L. Spaulding, 84, went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home on June 12, 2023 surrounded by family.  She was born on March 23, 1939 in Fremont, Ohio, the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Williams) Krienke.  Betty married Maurice “Sonny” Spaulding on December 11, 1957 at Saint Ann Catholic Church in Fremont, OH.  Betty took pride in being a full-time homemaker and taking care of her family.  Selfless and gracious, she spent a lifetime putting others needs before herself.  A person of strong faith she loved listening to gospel music and especially “Elvis” Gospel recordings.  Betty meant everything to her family and was the source of strength during times of crisis.  She loved all animals but had a special way with dogs of all breeds. Betty enjoyed fishing, puzzles, attending garage sales, Ross football games and feeding the backyard critters.  She enjoyed working outside the home and retired from Big Lots in Fremont.  Betty had a wonderful sense of humor and was liked by everyone who knew her.  Our loss is heaven’s gain.

Betty is survived by her children; daughters, Sherry Young of Fremont, OH, Kathy (Chris) Kiser of Fremont, OH and son, Bud (Rose) Spaulding of Clinton Township, MI; ten grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; late husband of fifty-six years Maurice “Sonny” Spaulding; siblings, Eileen, Kenny, Janice and George; daughter, Anna Hanover, daughter in-law, Amanda Hanover; son in-law, Charles Young and great grandson, Andrew Anstead.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
