Betty R. Hoffman

Betty R. Hoffman, 90, of Fremont, OH passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Bethesda Care Center. Betty was born on May 7, 1934 to Edward Fox and Cleo (Downing) Fox in Fostoria, OH. She was a 1953 graduate of Fostoria High School. Betty married Paul J. Hoffman on October 25, 1958 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2021. 

Betty worked for Reino’s in Gibsonburg and Fremont Laundry for many years. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, knitting, gardening and homemaking. Betty was a part of the Rosary Alter Society for Sacred Heart Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Guardians. Betty loved watching her children and grandchildren at their sporting and theater events. 

Betty is survived by her children, Robert (Debora) Hoffman, Fremont, OH, Peggy Fowler, Cleveland, OH, Roger (Mary) Hoffman, Helena, OH, Norbert (Margot) Hoffman, Westerville, OH, Raymond Hoffman, Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Melanie Hoffman, Scott (Hannah) Hoffman, Jessica (Matt) Hamstra, Adam (Brandy) Hoffman and Haley (Mike) Bochicchio; great-grandchildren, Colton, Avery, Rylan, Charlotte and Emilia Hoffman; sister, Nancy Hoffman, Helena, OH.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Paul J. Hoffman; siblings, Bertha Snell, Phyllis Jennings, Wynetta Dauterman and Ivan Fox and step-mother, Hilda Fox.

Visitation will take place on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420. 

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd. Fremont, OH 43420.

Burial will take place at St. Jospeh Cemetery with luncheon following at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Memorials can be made in her honor to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
