Betty Fay (Joseph) Forsyth, of Fremont, Ohio passed away January 24, 2021 at McLaren St. Lukes Hospital in Maumee. She was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky and moved to Fremont, Ohio in the late 1950’s, where she met her husband James, and they enjoyed more than 60 years together. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for others.
Betty enjoyed reading, playing cards, and going to garage sales. She had a knack for finding antiques and eclectic items and many of these “treasures” were gifted to family and friends. Betty’s Southern hospitality was well known. If you stopped at her house you never left hungry, as many of her sons’ friends would happily tell you.
She was especially proud of her grandchildren and played an essential role in raising and caring for each and every one of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Alta Joseph, a son, James P. Forsyth, and is survived by her husband, James Forsyth; her children, Jeff Forsyth of Gibsonburg, Nora Sallows, Indianapolis, Jerry Forsyth and Steve Forsyth, both of Fremont, Ohio, and seven grandchildren: Keith Brant, Kathleen Clark, Heather Forsyth, Patrick Forsyth, Joe Forsyth, Katie Sallows, Samantha Forsyth, and two great grandchildren, Eva Clark and Jaxon Forsyth.
Services are private for the family.
