Bernice Leonard, 82, of Fremont, OH passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Promedica Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 18, 1932 in Hope Hull, AL, the daughter of Arthur and Alice (Felder) Moore. She was a 1950 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.
Bernice married Howard Leonard in 1977 in Fremont and he survives. She worked at Eaton Controls for over thirty years and retired in 2000. Bernice was a member of Warren Chapel AME Church where she served as Superintendent of Sunday School and as an Usher. She was also President of the Stewart Board. Bernice was always willing to help out. She was an avid reader and enjoyed exercising, athletics and traveling.
Bernice is survived by her husband of thirty-eight years, Howard Leonard, Fremont, OH; children, Linda Marie Moore, Rosenberg, TX, Donald Moore, Fremont, OH; step sons, Howard Leonard, Jr., Chicago, IL and Derek Leonard, Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Kwame Arthur Moore and Ausar Tesfa Moore; brother, Larry (Beverly) Moore, Columbus, OH; aunt, Rubie Smith, Montgomery, AL and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Arthur Moore, Jr., Elaine Jenkins and Herman Moore.
Visitation: Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
Service: Friday, February 13, 2015, 7:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Shirley Lyons officiating.
