Bernard J. Deisenroth Iii

Bernard J. Deisenroth III, 89, of Fremont, OH passed away on December 12, 2020 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, OH.  He was born on January 22, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of Bernard and Alice (Swope) Deisenroth.  Bernie was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph High School.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Bernie married Virginia L. Sheldon on December 26, 1953 at St. Ann Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on October 27, 2014.  He was an auto technician for twenty-six years at Tri-Motor Auto Sales in Oak Harbor until he retired in 1994.

Bernie was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the Fremont American Legion.  He enjoyed racing where he was a mechanic for many years and camping.  Bernie loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bernie is survived by his children, Bernard J. (June) Deisenroth IV, Oak Harbor, OH, William L. “Larry” (Mary) Deisenroth, Alyce Ann (Bill) Witt, Mary E. Olmstead, Julia M. (Jeff) Michael all of Fremont, OH, Denise M. Martinez, Martin, OH, Laura J. (Hal) Lovins, Clyde, OH, Janet L. Prater, Ft. Wayne, IN; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Deisenroth; siblings, Lawrence Deisenroth, Janet Stout and Jean Mathis.

Visitation: Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial:  Thursday, December 17, 2020; 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1021 W State St., Fremont, OH.

The use of face masks is required while indoors at all services. Social distancing will be observed throughout all services with wait times taking place outdoors. If you would prefer, you may express your condolences below or call the funeral home at 419-332-6409 to request that your name be signed in the guest book.
