Benjamin F. Pelphrey

Benjamin “Ben” F. Pelphrey, 81, of Fremont, OH passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on March 11, 1934 in Johnson County, KY, the son of Grant and Lucinda (Ward) Pelphrey. He was a 1953 graduate of Vanlue High School.

Ben married Pamela “Pam” Rafferty on June 15, 1996 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont and she survives. Ben was a Manufacturing Engineer Manager at Atlas Industries and retired in 1997 after nineteen years of service. He was a Life member of the Loyal Order of The Moose and a member of the Fremont VFW and Eagles. Ben enjoyed cooking, fishing, golf, home improvements, going to the fair and watching NASCAR. He was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan and an Ohio State Buckeye fan.

Ben is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Pamela “Pam” Pelphrey, Fremont, OH; children, Rita (Ron) Mills, Fort Mohave, AZ and Jeff (Ping) Pelphrey, Fostoria, OH; grandchildren, Katlyn Cole, Sarah Pelphrey and Ting Ting Guan; great grandchildren, Matthew Cole, Michael Cole and Evelyn Grace Trausch.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Grant, Garrett, Gordon, Clark and David; sisters, Clara, Cordia, Cora, Martha and June.

Visitation: Tuesday from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Service: Wednesday, October 21, 2015, 10:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Jody Rice officiating.

Burial: Four Mile House Cemetery
