Audre M. Howey, 87, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Memorial Hospital. She was born March 5, 1926 in Fremont, the daughter of William and Edith (Morrison) Young. She was a 1944 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and received an Associates Degree from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, OH.
Audre married Virgil Howey on December 28, 1946 at Grace Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1998. She worked at Fremont Municipal Court as the Secretary of the Judge from 1978 until she retired in 1991.
Audre was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was a Luther League Leader. She was a member of the Audubon Society of Ohio, the Fremont Elite Runners Club, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) and was an official Eagle Watcher for the State of Ohio. Audre enjoyed bridge club, sewing, knitting, running, photography and most of all, her grandchildren.
Audre is survived by her children, Dana O. Howey, Tiffin, OH, Randi K. McClintock, Jamie (Roger) Hafford both of Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Kassie (Lewie) Lands, Chad (Yvette) Howey, Kory (Stephanie) Sherer, Katie McClintock, Karra (Adam) Elswick, Karly (David) Stover, Rob Heberling; great grandchildren, Matt (Kristen) Lands, Jordan Lands, Cole Howey, Owen Howey, Evan Howey, Lauren Sherer, Nathan Sherer, Kaitlyn Sherer, Bailey Eishen, Darick Oberdorf, Jack Oberdorf, Adelaide Stover, Michael Stover, Rob Stover, Audrey Heberling; great-great granddaughter, Isabella Lands.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil Howey; son, David W. Howey; sisters, Beatrice Schriver and Jean Dorr; great grandson, Samual Stover.
