Armour Jean Kieffer “Jeano”, 90, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 14, 1923 in Arcadia, OH, the son of Armour H. and Bernadine (Gangle) Kieffer.
Jeano served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Medal, American Area Medal, WWII Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He worked in the Maintenance Department and as a Superintendant at Howard Zink Company for over forty years, retiring in 1987.
Jeano was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Eagles, Moose and American Legion, all of Fremont. He loved staying active and enjoyed life.
Jeano is survived by his children, Scott Kieffer, Oak Harbor, OH, Chris (Walter) Bohanan of Florida, Shari Cronin, Key West, FL, Beth Herr and Cindy (Walter “Bill”) Wilfong, both of Fremont, OH; brother, Joseph (Janet) Kieffer of Florida; companion, Madaline Freeh, Fremont, OH; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Neil Kieffer; former wife, Glendora Kieffer.
Private Services were held for the family.
