Ann B. Brennen, 92, of Fremont, OH passed away on August 20, 2022 at St. Francis Nursing Home in Tiffin, OH. She was born on September 17, 1929 in Findlay, OH the daughter of John and Christine (Brennan) Murray. She was 1947 graduate of Findlay High School and also attended Findlay College. Ann married Russell E. Brennen on August 23, 1952 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Findlay, OH. She worked at Marathon Oil in Findlay, OH, Otto and Urban Flowers and was a supervisor of the Sandusky County Title Department.
Ann was a charter member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she served on the Rosary Alter Society, Pastoral Council, Deanery Council of Catholic Women and the Blessed Sacrament Confraternity. She was a very active Republican serving as the first Republican Woman on Fremont City Council, the chairwoman for the Republican Women’s Club. She was inducted into the Ohio Federation of Republican Women’s Hall of Fame and was awarded the Senior Republican Women Award. Ann received the Athena Award in 1988 and served on the Fremont Tree and Beautification Committee and the Sandusky County Economic Development Corporation.
Ann is survived by her son Terry (Lisa) Brennen, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Sean Brennen, Columbus, OH and Kelli Brennen, Maumee, OH; brother, John Murray, Cincinnati, OH and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell Brennen; sons, Steven Brennen and Fr. John Brennen; brother, Lawrence Murray.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, August 25, 2022; 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd, Fremont, OH with visitation taking place from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to mass.
