Alex Lachner

Alex Lachner, 91, of Fremont, OH passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 15, 2022.  He was born in Tokod, Hungary on June 6, 1930 to Rezso and Maria (Nagy) Lachner.   At the age of sixteen Alex moved to the United States with his family and began to work at the Fremont Foundry until he retired after fifty years of service.  Alex married RoseAnn Lagrou on February 6, 1954 in Fremont, OH and she preceded him on November 20, 2003.  He was an avid artist and woodworker, but his passion was watching tv, especially WWE wrestling.

Alex is survived by his children, Lynn Lachner, Susan (David) McDiarmid, Christopher (Jennifer) Lachner, Jason Lachner, all of Fremont, OH and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, RoseAnn Lachner; sons, Tommy and Michael Lachner.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from Noon to 2:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.

A graveside service will follow the visitation at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH beginning at 2:30 p.m.
