Albert T. Zamora, 70, of Fremont, OH passed away at his home on Monday, November 4, 2024. Born on February 27, 1954, in Fremont, Albert was one of several children to Albert H. and Elvira (Trevino) Zamora. Albert was a 1972 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School. He attended Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo where he earned his bachelor’s degree and went on to receive his professional engineering license. On June 8, 1974, he married the love of his life, Martha Wolf, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned fifty remarkable years. 

Albert proudly served in the Ohio Air National Guard in the Red Horse Engineering Squadron at Camp Perry from 1974 to 1999 serving our country for over two decades, retiring as a Master Sargeant. In his professional life he made significant contributions to the City of Fremont Wastewater Treatment Plant, where he served as an operator and later as Assistant Superintendent. He also worked as a civil engineer for several respected firms, including Jones and Henry Engineers, Arcadis, Kusmer and Associates and the City of Fremont Engineering Department, until he retired December 31, 2020. He was a Harley Davison enthusiast and enjoyed genealogy, traveling, coaching wrestling and he was known for his love of trivia. He has a deep appreciation for history and United States Air Force memorabilia. Albert was an avid fan of the Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Browns, OSU Football and Wrestling. 

Albert is survived by his wife of fifty years Martha Zamora; children Rachel Zamora and Jennifer Zamora, both of Fremont; grandchildren, Lorenzo Zamora, Michael Moore, Bakari Scott, Zuri Scott; siblings, Humbert (Emily) Zamora, Cincinnati, OH, Frances (Don) Sharp, Fremont, OH, Mary Lou Coe, Fremont, OH, William (Debbie) Zamora, Gahanna, OH, Louie (Beth) Zamora, Fremont, OH; brother-in-law, Larry Claus, Bellevue, OH, aunt, Delfina Trevino, Fremont, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Elva Claus; infant brother, Albert Zamora; brother-in-law Keith Coe and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will take place on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420. 

Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, OH 43420 and internment will take place at a later date.

A Celebration of Life will take place immediately following Mass at the Victors Event Center, 2270 Hayes Ave. Fremont, OH 43420. The family is requesting that you share stories and memories of Albert at that time. 

Memorials can be made in Albert’s honor to Bishop Hoffman Catholic Schools or the Wounded Warriors Project.
