Albert J. Ross, Jr.

Albert J. Ross, Jr. 83, of Fremont, OH passed away on January 19, 2024 at Elmwood Communities in Fremont, OH.  He was born on June 16, 1940 in Fremont, OH the son of Albert and Marjorie (Dunfee) Ross, Sr.  Al attended Fremont Ross High School. Al served in the US Army from 1957-59 in the Armored Calvary Division in Germany.

Al married Peggy Ramey on June 5, 1965 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fremont, OH and she preceded him in death on July 22, 2016.  He was machine operator at the Ford Motor Company for thirty-seven years until he retired in 2002. Al was a member of the Fremont Eagles and V.F.W.  He was an avid golfer, bowler, and loved to play Pinochle and Keno. Al was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

Al is survived by his children, Julie Ann (Rob) Bliss, Fremont and Albert “Rob” (Nichole) Ross, Clyde, OH; brother, Dan Ross, Fremont; grandchildren, Kyle Bliss, Elizabeth and Christian Ross, Kaylie Bliss, Connor and Ella Ross; great grandchildren, Brady, Lane, Kail and Elijah Bliss and Oliver Ross.

He was preceded in death by is parents; wife, Peggy Ross and brother, Larry Ross.

Visitation:  Friday, January 26, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH 43420.

Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens at a later date.

Memorials can be made to Heartland Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
